About us...
We are a group of keen sailors. We sail the RS Tera - a fun boat designed for a wide range of sailors from beginners to world champs aged 8 to 15. The boat is a single hander, easily car topped, with very low maintenance. It is an ideal stepping stone to the Laser and is developing a large number of young sailors into world class sailors.
We are very aware that the best way to develop skills is to sail with others. This is not always possible at your local club but we run a series of open events and coaching opportunities for everyone at a range of Eastern venues. We are a regional centre and we understand that many cannot justify the expense of travelling over the country to attend open events. The Eastern events and training are designed to be in easy reach of the majority of the East Anglian population giving our young sailor the opportunity to have fun and develop their skills.
In line with RYA guidance the Eastern Tera squad have embraced the concept of vertical training, ie training groups of children with mixed ability, locally and with the aim of developing confidence. We have a dedicated group of coaches and and enthusiastic band of volunteers. Join with us and let's see if the East can compete with the rest.
We are an affiliated group to the National Class Association and we do require that all members of the Eastern Group be members of the National Class Association. More information can be found here.
